Chapel is always open.

Chapel was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. But,a large pedestal has a small statue of the Sacred Heart so we assume a statue of the Blessed Mother was removed.

There are two plaques in the chapel:

In Honor of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mother George L Duval has erected this grotto December 8th 1917 Oh Mary conceived without sin pray for us sinners who have recourse to thee

Most blessed Virgin Mother vouchsafe. We beseech thee, accept the decree of Holy Mother Church placing our beloved country under the protection of thy Immaculate Conception. Accord it thy continuous care and powerful influence that God may safeguard it from all danger and permit it to fulfill its high mission among the peoples of the earth.
